Siegfried Geismar

Siegfried was born on January 12, 1879 in Breisach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.  He is the son of Israel Geismar and Merle Marie Geismar (Bloch).  Siegfried died in the Madjanek concentration camp in Lublin Poland during WWII after March 4, 1943.

  • After Breisach, Siegfried lived in (?) before moving to Offenburg in 1907.
  • Sigfried married Judith Beck from Lörrach in 1908.  Together they owned a butcher shop in the main square in Offenburg and lived in the residence above the shop with their family; Metzgerai and Wurtzgerai Sieg. Geismar.

Siegfried had 2 siblings, Ernestine Geismar Auerbacher and Hermann Geismar.

Ernestine Geismar was born April 20, 1876 in Breisach, Germany.  Ernestine m. Abraham Auerbacher and moved to Switzerland in the mid 1930s (date?).  She died in Switzerland in 1956 at the age of 80.

      • Martha (b. 1905-1979) married Moritz Benjamin and they had two boys, Rene and Hugo.

Herman Geismar was born April 4, 1881.  He married Jenny Breisacher in Breisach… (date?). Herman died in Breisach on April 4, 1881 at the age of 51.

    • Herman and Jenny had one daughter, Lucy Geismar, born on March 4, 1910 and died June 14, 1996 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
      • Lucy Geismar married Alfred Kahn (1897-1952), they had two children born in Mannheim, Henry (1933) and Doris (1935).
